Tonika Williams, Darrin Cook Injured in Olive Twp., MI, Accident

Olive Township, MI -- May 12, 2017, Tonika Williams and Darrin Cook were injured due to an accident where a car and an 18-wheeler collided.

Authorities from the Olive Township Police reported that the incident occurred just north of Holland along US Highway 31.

Initial reports indicate that 26-year-old Williams was traveling northbound along US 31 in a Dodge Avenger. As she did so, she was reportedly cut off suddenly by a pickup. This caused her vehicle to lose control and swerve across the median.

Entering southbound lanes, her vehicle collided with an oncoming 18-wheeler driven by 50-year-old Cook. This collision caused the 18-wheeler to overturn off the side of the road. The pickup fled the scene.

Both Cook and Williams were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Neither were said to be in critical in condition.

Police continue to look into the factors surrounding the accident.
