Worker Injured in San Antonio, TX, Electrical Accident off Grissom

San Antonio, TX -- May 18, 2017, a worker sustained injuries due to an accident in which he was electrically shocked during repairs off of Grissom Road.

San Antonio Police and other emergency departments were called out to the scene of the accident at around 8:45 a.m. The work site was located at the intersection of Grissom Road and Timberwilde Street.

According to investigators, a CPS Energy crew was working to repair a utility pole that had been knocked over after a driver crashed into it. In order to do the repairs, the crew was working to shut off the power to the downed lines.

Somehow during this process, a bucket lift somehow came into contact with a live wire. This sent electricity through the bucket, inflicting burns to the worker standing inside.

That worker was quickly transported over to a nearby hospital for treatment. His injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Investigations continue into the factors surrounding the accident.
