Man Injured in Valdosta, GA, Bus/Bicycle Accident off Norman

Valdosta, GA -- May 17, 2017, one man was injured as the result of an accident where he was struck by a school bus while riding a bicycle.

According to Valdosta authorities, the incident occurred in the late afternoon hours of Wednesday just outside Lowndes County High School, locate at 1606 Norman Drive.

Preliminary reports have indicated that a man, said to be 40 years old, was riding his bicycle along Norman. For reasons unclear, he was struck by a Lowndes County school bus and thrown onto the roadway.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries but required air transportation to a nearby hospital. No one else was hurt.

Police did not say if any charges or citations resulted from the incident. No further information is available at this time.
