Brent Dillard Killed in Charlotte, NC, Pedestrian Accident

Charlotte, NC -- May 16, 2017, Brent Dillard was fatally injured due to an accident in which he was struck by an 18-wheeler on the interstate.

Charlotte Police Department officials were called out to investigate the fatal incident. They indicated that it happened in the morning hours of Tuesday near the intersection of I-77 and Clanton Road.

Preliminary details released by investigators state that Dillard was driving a pickup along the interstate when he reportedly pulled over onto the shoulder. Dillard exited his vehicle for an unknown reason, after which he somehow crossed paths with an 18-wheeler on the highway. This resulted in a collision.

Responding emergency services report that Dillard died at the scene of the accident. The factors contributing to the accident are not currently clear.

Investigations are ongoing.
