Emily Galiano Killed in Forney, TX, Car Accident

Forney, TX -- May 16, 2017, Emily Galiano was fatally injured as the result of an accident in which she was struck by a vehicle.

According to preliminary information released by the Forney Police Department, the incident took place near a residence in the 13600 Hollow Creek Drive at around 8:00 p.m.

Police investigators reported that 14-year-old Galiano was leaving a Forney High softball team dinner party at the time. Officials say that as the group was getting ready to leave, she was somehow struck by a vehicle while standing near the road.

Galiano suffered critical injuries and was rushed over to a Dallas hospital for intensive care. She eventually succumbed to her injuries.

Police did not release any information regarding the driver involved, and it's unclear if any charges or citations are being considered.

Investigations are ongoing.
