Child Killed in Houston, TX, Drowning Accident on Braeswood

Houston, TX -- May 16, 2017, a young child was killed as the result of an accident where she somehow drowned in a pool at a home on South Braeswood.

Officials from the Houston Police and Fire Departments were called out to the scene at around 1:00 p.m. They say it happened at a residence located in the 5700 block of South Braeswood Boulevard.

According to preliminary reports from police, a 2-year-old girl was in a pool at the residence. It's currently unclear whether or not the home was the girl's residence. Someone at the home found the girl unconscious in the pool and called for emergency services.

Medical teams were able to transport the child to a nearby hospital while attempting resuscitation. The girl later succumbed to her injuries.

The factors surrounding the incident are not currently clear. No charges or citations have been reported.
