2 Injured in Smith County, TX, Head-on Accident on FM 2767

Smith County, TX -- May 14, 2017, two people sustained injuries following an accident in which their vehicles crashed head-on along FM 2767.

Emergency response officials were called out to the scene of the accident at around 2:00 a.m. along Farm-to-Market Road 2767.

Preliminary police reports suggest that a car and a pickup were both traveling along FM 2767. For reasons which police have yet to be determined, the two vehicles somehow crossed paths with another, which resulted in a head-on collision. The collision caused the pickup to run off the roadway while the car sustained significant enough damage to trap the driver in the vehicle.

Upon extraction from the wreckage, the driver of the car was transported to ETMC Tyler for treatment of serious injuries. The pickup driver was taken to Mother Francis Hospital in unspecified condition.

At this time, the cause of the accident is still ongoing.
