Richard Laman Killed in Odessa, TX, Motorcycle Accident

Odessa, TX -- May 14, 2017, Richard Laman was killed as the result of an accident in which his motorcycle crashed off the roadway.

Preliminary details surrounding the accident were released by the Odessa Police Department, who say that the accident took place at around 12:00 a.m. near the intersection of Rocky Lane Road and Dunbar Drive.

According to police investigators, 54-year-old Laman was driving a 2016 Harley-Davidson along the southbound lane of Rocky Lane. As he did so, the vehicle somehow lost control, causing it to leave its lane and strike the roadside curb. This caused the vehicle to go off-road, ejecting Laman onto the ground.

Emergency services were called out to the scene, but they say Laman died at the scene.

It's still not clear what caused the accident to occur. Investigations are ongoing.
