Stacy Byers Killed, Larry Epperson Injured in Scott County, AR, Accident

Scott County, AR -- May 13, 2017, Stacy Byers was killed and Larry Epperson was injured following an accident where their vehicles collided.

Investigating officers from the Arkansas State Police reported on the fatal incident, saying it took place around 1:25 p.m. along Highway 71 North.

According to police officials, 41-year-old Byers was traveling southbound along Highway71 in a Chevy Corsica. In the opposite lanes was a Toyota Tundra driven by 64-year-old Epperson. Police say that on a curve in the road, the vehicles somehow crossed paths with one another. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

As a result of the collision, Byers suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Epperson was transported to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith for unspecified injuries.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time.
