1 Killed, 1 Injured in Beeville, TX, Head-on Accident on US 181

Beeville, TX -- May 13, 2017, one person was killed and another was injured after an accident where two vehicles crashed head-on along US 181.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the accident happened in the morning hours of Saturday near the intersection of of US Highway 181 and Highway 202.

According to police investigators, a Mazda was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of US 181. As a result, it crossed paths with an oncoming Chevy. Neither vehicle could avoid the accident in time, resulting in a head-on collision.

Officials say that the driver of the Mazda died in the accident. The driver of the Chevy was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

No particular factors have been reported at this time. Police continue their investigations.
