Police Officer Hurt in Accident on North Walton Walker Freeway in Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX -- A two-vehicle collision on the North Walton Walker Freeway in Dallas, TX left a police officer hospitalized Thursday, May 11, 2017.

The report claims the officer was responding to a call when a vehicle stopped on the road near the Jefferson Boulevard exit. The stopped vehicle then led to a multi-vehicle crash. It appears a third vehicle attempted to avoid crashing into the car, and the officer's vehicle struck the third car from behind.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital, but she is expected to recover.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and may reveal more details later.
