Edward Kaneshiro Killed in Accident in Elgin, IL

Elgin, IL -- A collision involving a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of 72-year-old Edward Kaneshiro Friday, May 12, 2017.

The incident took place in Elgin, IL at Summit Street and Shady Oaks around 2:45 p.m.

According to the early media reports, Mr. Kaneshiro was headed west on Summit when a vehicle headed south on Shady Oaks collided with his bike. Mr. Kaneshiro's bike wobbled, lost control, and threw him from the back.

Mr. Kaneshiro was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

The driver of the car, an unidentified man, was left without injuries.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
