Student Injured in Whitehouse, TX, Hit-and-run Accident on Main

Whitehouse, TX -- May 11, 2017, a child was injured as the result of an accident in which he was struck by a vehicle which then fled the scene.

Officials from the Whitehouse Police Department continue to search for the driver involved in the accident. They say it happened at around 7:40 a.m. just outside Holloway Middle School located off of Main Street.

According to investigators, a sixth-grader was walking across the roadway when the driver of a pickup somehow failed to see him in time. As a result, a collision occurred, knocking the the child onto the roadway. The driver of the pickup then fled the scene of the accident.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries said to be non-life-threatening.

Police have not yet released any additional details concerning the incident.
