1 Killed, 1 Injured in Glenwood, OR, Truck Accident on Highway 6

Glenwood, OR -- May 9, 2017, one truck driver was killed and another was injured due to an accident where their trucks crashed on Highway 6.

Preliminary details have been released by the Oregon State Police who reported that the accident happened about four miles west of town in the afternoon hours of Tuesday.

According to police investigations, two trucks, an 18-wheeler and a box truck, were traveling in opposite directions down Highway 6. Reports say the box truck somehow crossed over the center traffic line into the path of the oncoming 18-wheeler. This resulted in a head-on collision which then forced the 18-wheeler off the side of the road.

Authorities say that the driver of the box truck suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.

At this time, no particular cause for the accident has been reported. Authorities continue their investigations.
