One Hurt in Petroleum Well Accident in Greeley, CO

Greeley, CO -- A fire at at a petroleum well in Greeley, Colorado left one unidentified person with injuries Monday, May 8, 2017.

Local fire officials claim the man was injured when a fire broke out in a tank at a petroleum well. According to authorities, the tank held water used for fracking. It appears an engine backfire ignited vapor leaking from the tank. The victim's identity has yet to be disclosed.

The official investigation into the incident is currently underway and may reveal more details at its conclusion.

The report was sparse, however, more information may become known as the investigation concludes.
