Michael Warner Killed, Cody Warner, Lilly Gray, Braden Nichols Injured in Newport, WA, Accident

Newport, WA -- May 5, 2017, Michael Warner was killed, Cody Warner, Lilly Gray, and Braden Nichols were injured, in a head-on truck accident.

The Washington State Police were called out to investigate the accident scene in the afternoon hours of Friday. They say it happened just south of town along US Highway 2.

According to police officials, 18-year-old Nichols was driving a car with 17-year-old Michael, 16-year-old Cody, and 17-year-old Gray as passengers. Police claim that a school bus was slowing down at an intersection in front of their vehicle. The driver attempted to avoid a collision, causing the car to cross into oncoming traffic and hit a dump truck.

As a result of the collision, Michael suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Gray had to be taken via helicopter for treatment of her injuries, while Cody and Nichols were both taken via ground ambulance. Their exact conditions were not released.

Police did not mention any additional factors contributing to the accident. No further information is currently available.
