Shanon Amerosa Killed in Foley, MO, Truck/Train Accident

Foley, MO -- May 5, 2017, Shanon Amerosa sustained fatal injuries resulting from an accident in which a train collided into his truck.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol released details surrounding the crash, saying that it occurred just off the intersection of Old Missouri 79 and Kings Lake Road.

According to preliminary reports, at around noon, 38-year-old Amerosa was driving a dump truck out of a quarry with a shipment. As he drover across the tracks, he crossed paths with an oncoming coal train. This resulted in a collision that derailed several train cars and inflicted serious damage to Amerosa's truck.

Officials say Amerosa suffered fatal injuries and died in the collision. No other injuries were reported.

Details concerning the cause of the accident are still unclear. Authorities continue their investigations.
