Michael Ramsey Killed in Accident near Colstrip, MT

Colstrip, MT -- 62-year-old Michael Ramsey was killed in a work-related incident at the Rosebud Mine near Colstrip, MT Saturday, May 6, 2017.

The incident took place at the mine around 5:20 p.m.

According to the media reports, Mr. Ramsey was driving a truck when for unclear reasons the vehicle fell into a 100-foot deep pit. A mine crew rappelled into the pit, retrieving Mr. Ramsey's body.

The mine is reportedly owned by Westmoreland Coal Company based in Englewood, Colorado.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
