Woman Injured in Blair, NE, Scooter/Truck Accident on US 30

Blair, NE -- May 8, 2017, a woman sustained injuries as the result of an accident where her scooter was hit by a semi-truck on US Highway 30.

Blair emergency rescue officials reported that the incident took place at around 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of US Highway 30 and Lincoln Street.

According to preliminary investigations, a woman, who was not identified, was riding a mobility scooter in the area of the highway. As she did so, she somehow crossed paths with an oncoming Lyman-Richey Sand & Gravel Company truck. The driver did not avoid the woman in time and struck her, dragging the scooter for several feet.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and they were able to transported the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her injuries weren't specified.

Police did not report any charges or citations resulting from the accident, and the exact cause is still under investigation. No additional details are available.
