Two Killed in Truck Accident on G Street near Merced, CA

Merced, GA -- A crash that involved a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck left two unidentified people dead near Merced, CA Monday, May 8, 2017.

The incident happened on G Street close to Old Lake Road around 11:30 a.m.

Police say the truck was northbound, and when it attempted to enter the southbound lane to pass the passenger vehicle, the two vehicles collided. The driver of the semi, 60-year-old Auscencio Ramirez, pulled to the side of the road and attempted to approach the other vehicle. Before he could reach them, the victims became trapped within the burning wreckage.

Both occupants of the passenger vehicle died in the incident. The driver of the semi was uninjured.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
