14 Students Injured in LaPlace, LA, Bus Accident on St. Andrews

LaPlace, LA -- May 5, 2017, fourteen students and a driver were injured following an accident in which a school bus and a pickup collided.

Authorities from the LaPlace Police Department were called out to the accident scene at approximately 2:30 p.m. along St. Andrews Boulevard.

Police investigators reported that a St. John High School bus was transporting roughly 28 students at the time. As it did so, it was somehow struck from behind by a red Chevy pickup. Police did not specify the details surrounding the collision.

As a result of the collision, officials say at least 14 students were transported to area hospitals with injuries said to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the pickup was also taken to a hospital. That person's injuries were not specified.

No charges or citations were reported after the crash. Police have released no additional information.
