Joseph Hicks Killed in Hot Spring County, AR, Car Accident

Hot Spring County, AR -- May 6, 2017, Joseph Hicks was killed as the result of an accident where his vehicle crashed off the highway.

The Arkansas State Police released preliminary information regarding the fatal crash. They say it took place around 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of Us highway 70 and Mazarn Road in the town of Bonnerdale.

According to police, 75-year-old Hicks was driving a 2016 Jeep along eastbound Highway 70. As he did so, the vehicle somehow lost control and ran off the side of the highway. This caused the vehicle to crash head-on into a tree off the highway.

Officials reported that Hicks succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. No other people appear to have been involved.

Police have yet to determine what might have caused the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
