Keisha Mercer Killed, Two Hurt in Accident in Augusta, GA

Augusta, GA -- An 18-wheeler vs. passenger vehicle led to the death of 42-year-old Keisha Mercer and injured two others Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Augusta, GA.

The incident took place on Highway 25 around 9:30 a.m.

Police officials say the victim's Chevy was traveling north on 25 when it collided with a semi-truck headed north on the same highway. It looks like the semi and the Chevy Tahoe collided, ejecting Ms. Mercer and her 4-year-old daughter from the Chevy.

Ms. Mercer was killed in the incident. The driver of the big rig was left with minor injuries. The extent of the girl's injuries and her current condition remain unknown.

The investigation into the incident is currently underway.
