Firefighters Injured in Houston, TX, Electric Shock Accident

Houston, TX -- May 4, 2017, two firefighters sustained injuries following an accident where they were electrically shocked on an emergency call.

According to reports released by the Houston Fire Department, the incident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. at an apartment complex located along Park Place Boulevard, just off the I-45 and Loop 610 interchange.

Fire officials indicate that two firefighters were responding to an emergency call at the time. One of the firefighters was operating a power saw in the course of their duties and somehow came into contact with a power source. This caused an electric shock to both workers.

After the incident, authorities say that one of the firefighters was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The other firefighter was said to have non-life-threatening injuries, though it's unclear if he was taken to a hospital.
