Jarhet Gutierrez Killed, One Hurt in Accident near South Mountain, AZ

South Mountain, AZ -- A motorcycle crash in the area of South Mountain, AZ claimed the life of Jarhet Gutierrez and left an unidentified person with injuries Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

Based upon the media reports, it appears the motorcycle occupied by the victims was traveling along 28th Street and Baseline Road around 3 a.m. The eastbound bike for unclear reasons it struck a median, throwing both riders from the bike.

The driver of the bike was taken to a local hospital, and was last listed in stable but serious condition.

The passenger, Jarhet Gutierrez, was hospitalized, but later succumbed to her injuries.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing.
