One Killed, One Hurt in Suspected DUI Accident on Interstate 280 in San Jose, CA

San Jose, CA -- A collision and subsequent vehicle fire claimed the life of one person and left another hurt Sunday, April 30, 2017.

The incident took place on Interstate 280 in San Jose, CA around 2:30 a.m.

Police officials say the a Lexus sedan was speeding along 280 when it collided with a second vehicle. The second car flipped over, but there were no injuries reported. The Lexus then went on to collide with a Honda, causing it to spin out , and burst into flames. The driver of the Honda attempted to escape with the aid of good Samaritans, however, they were unable to free the victim.

According to police, they believe the driver of the Lexus was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
