Tanya Rhodes Killed in Beaumont, TX, Accident

Beaumont, TX -- April 27, 2017, Tanya Rhodes was killed due to an accident in which she was injured by a vehicle being driven by Salvador Mijares.

Authorities from the Beaumont Police Department reported on the fatal incident, which they say happened along Toccoa Road. It's unclear what time of day this happened.

Initial investigations revealed that there had been some sort of altercation at the scene involving a man, 40-year-old Mijares, and a woman, 30-year-old Rhodes. Their relation was not given. Somehow, Rhodes had sustained critical injuries, and Mijares drove her from the scene to a nearby hospital. She later died from her injuries.

Further police investigations indicated that Rhodes was on top Mijares's vehicle, somehow falling and sustaining fatal injuries. Due to this information, police arrested Mijares, who now faces a charge of Aggravated Family Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Additional charges are pending.

No further information is available.
