Minor Killed in Hot Springs, AR, Pedestrian Accident on MLK

Hot Springs, AR -- May 1, 2017, a minor was killed due to an accident where they were struck by a car while walking on Martin Luther King.

The Arkansas State Police released a preliminary accident report regarding the incident, which they say occurred at around 12:15 a.m. along Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway.

According to police, an underage boy, age and name not given, was walking along the right side of the expressway. As he did so, the driver of an Acura somehow failed to see the pedestrian, resulting in a collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but resuscitation efforts proved unsuccessful. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not report any charges or citations resulting from the accident. They say the accident is still under investigation.
