Sonya J. Cherry Killed, Allison E. Venuto Injured in Accident in Pemiscot Co., MO

Pemiscot County, MO -- A three vehicle crash claimed the life of 56-year-old Sonya J. Cherry and left 31-year-old Allison E. Venuto with injuries Thursday, April 27, 2017.

The incident took place on I-55 around 12:30 p.m.

According to police, the vehicle occupied by the victims was headed south on 55 when for reasons unclear it was struck from behind by a pickup truck. The force of the initial collision pushed the victim's vehicle into a semi-truck.

Ms. Cherry and Ms. Venuto were both taken to a nearby hospital. Ms. Cherry died a short time later; Ms. Venuto was left with serious injuries.

The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident.
