Robin Shaw, Misty Nicholson, Scott Riola Killed in Amarillo, TX, Air Ambulance Accident

Amarillo, TX -- April 29, 2017, Robin Shaw, Misty Nicholson, and Scott Riola were killed after an accident where a small plane crashed after takeoff.

Authorities from the Federal Aviation Administration as well as the Texas Department of Public Safety were called to the accident scene at around 12:30 a.m. The plane went down less than a mile from the Amarillo International Airport near the intersection of Pullman Road and Southeast 3rd Avenue.

According to preliminary investigations, three employees of Rico Aviation were on-board the small air ambulance. They were identified as Shaw, the pilot, and Nicholson and Riola, two nurses.

For reasons yet to be determined, the airplane lost control and went down at a nearby intersection and crashed. By the time emergency services arrived, all three victims had succumbed to fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials are still investigating the exact cause of the accident. No further details are available.
