One Killed in Accidental Trench Collapse in Forest Glen/Chicago, IL

Forest Glen/Chicago, IL -- A trench collapse in the Forest Glen neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois took the life of an unidentified man Monday, March 13, 2017.

The report claims the man was working in a trench near Sauganash and Keeler attempting to replace a sewer line. For unknown reasons, the trench in which he was working caved in, trapping the man within.

Rescue units were able to transport the 41-year-old victim to a local hospital, but he succumbed a short time later.

The official investigation is ongoing.

Further information may become known as the investigation reaches its conclusion.

Officials are examining the details of the incident at this time.
