4 Injured in Wilmington, DE, Bus/Truck Accident on D Street

Wilmington, VA -- March 10, 2017, four people sustained injuries following an accident in which a school bus and dump truck crashed on D Street.

According to preliminary reports released by the Wilmington Fire Department, the accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of D Street and South Heald Street.

Preliminary accident reports indicate that a Delaware School for the Deaf bus was transporting students to school at the time. They were traveling down the road when a dump truck somehow crashed into them.

As a result of the crash, one student, the bus driver, a bus aide, and the driver of the dump truck were transported from the scene and taken to hospitals for treatment. No injuries were specified, but they did not appear life-threatening.

Police did not report any citations or charges following the crash. No further information is currently available.
