Teens Injured in Waco, TX, Single-Vehicle Accident on Highway 6

Waco, TX -- March 15, 2017, two teenagers were injured as the result of an accident in which their vehicle crashed off of Highway 6.

Emergency teams from Waco and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the single-vehicle accident scene in the afternoon hours of Wednesday. The crash happened just off of Highway 6 near Loop 340.

Early investigators indicate that a 17-year-old man was driving a car along the highway with an 18-year-old woman as a passenger. Their vehicle somehow lost control and veered across the median. The car went over oncoming lanes and off road where it crashed into the roadside ditch and came to a halt.

Following the collision, both occupants were examined by medical teams before being taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center. Their injuries appeared minor.

Authorities say the driver may face charges unrelated to the accident. They have not released any additional details.
