Deputy Injured in San Antonio, TX, Motorcycle Accident on US 281

San Antonio, TX -- March 16, 2017, a Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy was injured due to an accident in which his motorcycle was hit by an SUV on Highway 281.

Emergency crews from Bexar County responded to the two-vehicle accident scene at around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of US Highway 281 and Mission Grande.

Preliminary accident reports have indicated that a Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy was driving down the highway on a motorcycle. For reasons that aren't entirely clear, an SUV lost control and veered out of its lane. This resulted in a collision between the motorcycle and SUV, which ejected the officer onto the roadway.

The deputy was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was not injured.

Police have not reported any charges or citations at this point in time. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
