Kathryn Sims Killed, Roger Sims Injured in Accident in Rutherford Co., TN

Rutherford County, TN -- A single-vehicle tractor-trailer crash in the area of Rutherford County, TN claimed the life of Kathryn Sims and left 55-year-old Roger Sims with injuries Monday, March 13, 2017.

The incident happened on Interstate 840 around midnight.

Local police say the incident took place in the westbound lanes close to the Almaville Road exit. It appears the big rig occupied by the victims for reasons unclear careened off the roadway, went off an embankment and rolled into a ravine.

The driver of the truck, 55-year-old Roger Sims, was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Ms. Sims, 56, was killed at the scene of the crash.

The official investigation into the incident is currently underway.
