Driver Injured in Rochester, MN, Bus Accident on Bamber Valley

Rochester, MN -- March 14, 2017, at least one person was injured as the result of an accident where a school bus hit a car on Bamber Valley Road.

Rochester Police and other emergency crews were called to the accident scene in the morning hours of Tuesday. The crash occurred at the intersection of Bamber Valley Road and Salem Road.

According to preliminary accident investigations, 21-year-old Ashley Burgdorf was driving a school bus along the road with three students on-board the bus. An 82-year-old woman was sitting at a light in her vehicle. Burgdorf somehow failed to stop in time approaching the light, and she crashed into the back of the car.

As a result of the collision, the woman driving the car was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. No injuries were reported for those on the bus.

Burgdorf received a citation from police for failing to drive with care. No additional details surrounding the crash have been reported.
