DPW Worker Killed in Accident on Pondside Road in Longmeadow, MA

Longmeadow, MA -- A worker with DPW was killed in an incident with an Amtrak train Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in the areae of Longmeadow, MA.

The crash happened on Pondside Road around 4 p.m.

According to the police reports, the victim was operating a plow, clearing a town road when the incident occurred. The train allegedly stopped several hundred yards down the track.

The victim's identity has yet to be disclosed.

Further information, including the victim's identity and the cause of the incident, may be forthcoming pending the outcome of the investigation.

Officials are currently investigating the incident.
