Samantha Smith Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Henry County, VA

Henry County, VA -- A collision between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of 27-year-old Samantha Smith Monday, March 13, 2017.

The incident happened at Route 220 & Route 1270 around 2:45 a.m.

It is unclear exactly what happened, but it looks like the victim was on foot near 220 and 1270 when the incident happened. Ms. Smith was reportedly killed a the scene of the incident. The report made no mention of other injuries in the collision.

According to police, the driver faces no charges at this time.

The official investigation into the deadly incident is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
