One Killed in ATV Accident on County Road 290 near Poteau, OK

Poteau, OK -- A collision between two ATV'S claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy in the area of Poteau, OK Sunday, March 12, 2017.

The incident happened on County Road 290.

According to the reports, the victim was riding the ATV when it was struck by a second ATV attempting to pull into a driveway. The victim was reportedly thrown from the vehicle, and was pinned beneath it. The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident.

The 10-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. It was reported the boy was initially listed in critical condition, but that he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
