Ashley Suggs Reza and Child Killed in Raeford, NC, Accident

Raeford, NC -- March 10, 2017, Ashley Suggs Reza and her young son were killed due to an accident in which their vehicle and a log truck collided.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. about two miles west of town. They say the accident occurred along Aberdeen Road.

According to preliminary police reports, 24-year-old Reza was driving along Aberdeen with her 7-month-old son riding as a passenger. Investigators claim that her vehicle and an oncoming log truck somehow crossed paths with one another. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

Reza and her son sustained critical injuries in the crash, and EMS officials say they died at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt.

Authorities didn't report any charges or citation following the collision. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
