1 Killed, 1 Injured in Cibolo, TX, Accident at Santa Clara Creek

Cibolo, TX -- March 10, 2017, woman was killed and a man was injured due to an accident in which their car crashed into the Santa Clara Creek.

Texas DPS and Cibolo authorities were called to the scene in the afternoon hours of Friday just off of I-10. A motorist heard a man shouting from Santa Clara Creek clinging to a tree in rushing flood waters.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to rescue the man. Their investigations indicate that he and his wife somehow lost control and went off the roadway around 1:00 a.m. Their car crashed into the creek as a result. The husband was able to escape the vehicle and had clung to a tree until being rescued.

His wife was missing for some time before authorities eventually located her inside the vehicle. Unfortunately, she was dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released any additional details at this time.
