Matthew Meinert Killed in Accident in Tarrant County, TX

Tarrant County, TX -- A boating incident in the area of Tarrant County, TX left 38-year-old Matthew Meinert dead Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

The incident took place on Denton Creek.

According to the report, the victim and his son were on a fishing trip when the father was struck on the head by the boat's propeller. The boy, 2-year-old Oliver, was found at the creek's bank reportedly uninjured.

The exact cause of the incident is unclear at this time.

The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident.

The death of Mr. Meinert is currently under investigation by local authorities.
