Nicholas Makowski, Alejandro Chavez Injured in Flint, TX Accident

Flint, TX -- March 8, 2017, DPS Trooper Nicholas Makowski, Alejandro Chavez, and a teenager were injured in , due to a two-vehicle accident.

Investigating authorities say that the collision happened in the evening hours of Wednesday near the intersection of Highway 155 and Mary Martin Drive.

According to preliminary reports, 30-year-old Nicholas Makowski, a DPS Trooper, was traveling southbound on Highway 155 in a police cruiser. A Ford F-150driven by by 50-year-old Chavez reportedly turned in front of the cruiser in an attempt to enter northbound lanes of the highway. This resulted in a collision at the intersection.

As a result of the collision, Makowski, Chavez, and a 15-year-old girl from Chavez's vehicle were taken to East Texas Medical Center for treatment. All injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

At this time, authorities have not reported any charges or citations resulting from the incident. No further information is currently available.
