James Grassi Killed, Hobee Hansen Injured in Muscatine, IA, Accident

Muscatine, IA -- March 3, 2017, James Grassi was killed and Hobee Hansen was injured after an accident where their trucks collided.

Investigators from the Iowa State Police report that the two-vehicle accident occurred around 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 38 and Colorado Street.

Preliminary accident reports indicate that 38-year-old Grassi was driving a truck northbound on the highway toward 56-year-old Hansen, who was southbound in a semi-tanker. The two vehicles somehow crossed paths with one another, and a head-on collision occurred.

Grassi's injuries were critical, and authorities say he died at the scene. Hansen was take to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation. No further details are available.
