One Injured in La Feria, TX, Sports Car/Trailer Accident on US 83

La Feria, TX -- March 9, 2017, a driver sustained injuries following an accident where their car crashed into an 18-wheeler on US 83.

Local authorities responded to the two-vehicle accident scene in the morning hours of Thursday. The crash happened at the intersection of US Highway 83 and Mile 3 E.

Preliminary investigations have stated that a man was driving a silver sports car along the road when he somehow crossed paths with an oncoming 18-wheeler. The car went underneath the middle of the trailer, and the vehicle became trapped underneath the 18-wheeler.

Emergency crews had to extricate the driver from the vehicle, and he was transported to a nearby hospital with non-critical injuries. No other injuries were reported.
