One Injured in Ennis, TX, Box Truck Accident on Highway 287

Ennis, TX -- March 9, 2017, one person sustained injuries due to an accident where their vehicle was struck by a box truck on Highway 287.

According to reports released by local authorities, the two-vehicle collision occurred along lanes of Highway 287 in the evening hours of Thursday.

Preliminary reports released by police investigators indicate that a passenger car and a box truck were traveling in the same lanes of US 287. For reasons that have yet to be determined, the truck somehow failed to stop in time, crashing into the back of the passenger car.

Emergency services transported at least one person to a nearby hospital for treatment. It's unclear from which vehicle they came, and reports did not specify how severe injuries were.

No citations were reported following the crash. Authorities continue their investigations.
