Man Injured in Houston, TX, Pedestrian/Tow Truck Accident on I-45

Houston, TX -- March 9, 2017, a man was injured due to an accident where he was struck by a tow truck as he was walking along I-45.

The Houston Police Department was called to the southbound lanes of I-45 at around 4:45 a.m. The incident happened near the interchange of I-610.

According to preliminary accident reports, a man, whose identity was not released, was walking in the vicinity of southbound traffic lanes. He reportedly attempted to cross the highway, entering the path of an oncoming tow truck. The driver was unable to avoid the man, and the pedestrian was struck by the truck's side mirror.

The pedestrian suffered injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities did not file any charges against the driver.

At this time, no further information has been released. Investigations are ongoing.
