11-Car Accident Leaves Three with Injuries on U.S. 36 in Avon, IN
Avon, IN -- An 11-vehicle collision in Avon, Indiana left three people with injuries on the evening of Saturday, March 4, 2017.
The crash happened on U.S. 36 outside the Primanti Bros. restaurant in Avon, IN.
According to the report, a vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed when it careened off the roadway, crashing into two trees. The car then went airborne, landing in the restaurant's parking lot.
The car first struck one vehicle, then spun around an crashed into nine other vehicles. The vehicle came to rest on its side. Two occupants of the car, a 23-year-old and his passenger, were hospitalized with minor injuries. A third person in a parked car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The exact cause of the crash remains unclear.
