One Killed on State Road 38 in Pendleton, IN

Pendleton, IN -- A collision in the area of Pendleton, IN claimed the life of one unidentified person Saturday, March 5, 2017.

The incident happened on State Road 38.

It looks like the SUV occupied by the victim was traveling along 38 near I-69 when the incident happened. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, drove through the grass and collided with a cement abutment. The passenger car then went airborne, landing on its roof, and caught fire.

The exact cause of the crash had yet to be determined by authorities.

The official investigation into the incident is currently underway.

There was no further information at the time the report's release.
