Lavonne Stang Injured in Cold Spring, MN, 18-wheeler Accident

Cold Spring, MN -- March 2, 2017, Lavonne Stang was injured as the result of an accident where her vehicle crashed head-on with an 18-wheeler.

According to preliminary reports released by Stearns County Sheriff's officials, the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 2 and Island Lake Road.

Police investigators stated that 64-year-old Stang was traveling northbound along Island Lake Road when her vehicle somehow crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic. As a result, it crossed paths with an oncoming 18-wheeler. The two vehicles crashed head-on.

Due to the collision, Stang was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of injuries said to be non-life-threatening. The truck driver was not injured.

Authorities have not confirmed the factors contributing to the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
